Schools need to work with health services to end a “postcode lottery” in support for children with speech, language and communications difficulties, according to an interim report by John Bercow MP, commissioned by the Government. His inquiry, due to publish its final report in July, is now looking at what help should be available when a child with such difficulties first enters primary or secondary school.
