Don Short, agony uncle, answers your questions

I have so much work at the moment that I find it impossible not to bring my work home with me. I don’t want my job to rule my life - any advice?

I am in the habit of simply working through the whole day, taking one short break, and if that doesn’t work refusing to merge home with class even if it means not being totally prepared the next day. Consequently, my marriage has lasted and my children call me Dad instead of asking their mother who the stranger is at the breakfast table. Seek advice from more experienced colleagues or through the college support mechanism; this may help you to organise the day more effectively so you don’t end up taking work home.
