Uganda after Kony

After the impact of social networking during last year’s Arab Spring, the Kony 2012 campaign once again proved that sites like Facebook and YouTube can be used to push for change. Despite controversy about money raised and whether Kony 2012 was responsible for the capture of militia leader Joseph Kony, the campaign was successful in spreading the word about the abuse of Ugandan children. ActionAidSchoolsTeam’s resource pack will help students to consider life after Kony.

Why is it useful?

Kony 2012 is a powerful tool to raise social awareness. It includes images and quotes to stimulate discussion about the issue of child abuse around the world.

What else?

Discuss the power of social networking with a lesson from Mrbrightside83.
