If you’ve got it, don’t flout it

I was surprised to see my old friend Morris Simpson, an English teacher, making the kind of common error he should be looking out for in his pupils’ work (18 May). He wrote “flaunt” when he meant “flout”. As Morris’s former editor, could I also cheekily ask: where was the sub?
