Of course academics, who have deliberately chosen the tranquility of academe, should not be let loose in the classroom - with the possible exception of Wellington College they would be eaten alive (“Come on over: top head invites academics to try the chalkface,” 25 February).

Like all exotic species, academics are best viewed in their natural habitat (a lecture theatre), where they can often be seen sharing their nutritious food for thought with packed audiences of voracious students and the public.
