Kent suffers from poor selection

SELECTION in Kent is failing the county’s children and its grammar schools are underperforming compared with selective schools elsewhere, according to research by a leading academic. Poor performance is hidden from parents because the grammars look good in national league tables. But Professor David Jesson of York University found that selective schools in Kent and Medway should be performing “substantially” better considering their intake.
