The Learning Curve, a historical website launched in Novemember 1998 by the Public Record Office (TES Friday magazine, November 20, 1998) has beaten off competition from other public sector websites to win the PricewaterhouseCoopers Award for innovation and risk management. It received an additional Wow! award for deign and operation, focusing on its quality as a teaching resource. The site provides an online adventure through history, showcasing historical artefacts from the Magna Carta and the Domesday Book to the confessions of Guy Fawkes and X-rays of Hitler’s brain.
