The Level 2 Reading comprehension test will become a statutory part of key stage 1 assessment from 1997, in addition to the Reading task. The key stage 1 spelling test will be reported as a separate test. All reading, spelling and maths tests at key stages 1 and 2 will be distributed with tables for the conversion of raw scores to age standardised scores, for optional use.
