TES books editor Geraldine Brennan on the inside literary track

One week left to give Arts Council England your views on “the position of children’s literature within education” and what needs to be done to support creative teaching in this area. The consultation paper, From Looking Glass to Spyglass, can be found under “Publications” on www.artscouncil. org.uk and responses have to be received by November 14.

Feedback is being sought on the place of children’s books in schools, teacher education, libraries, shops and promotional activity. The revised strategy will be launched in December. Reply to Abigail Campbell, Literature Department, Arts Council England, 14 Great Peter Street, London SW1P 3NQ or email childrensliterature@artscouncil.org.uk.
