KS45: There’s an interesting collection of anti-tuberculosis posters from the early 20th century at www.nlm.nih.govexhibitionvisualculturetuberculosis.html

Ask pupils to view them (click on each image for a larger version) and to analyse their purposes and methods.

In the light of this article, have your pupils discuss whether these posters might serve any useful purpose in an anti-TB campaign for today.

Ask pupils to target on their own age group or those a little older - the potential backpackers, perhaps - and, using the article, to establish what information is essential for young people who might find themselves at risk from TB. They could then devise and produce an informative poster, fact sheet or short video presentation to help them protect themselves.
