Classroom discussions about refugees and asylum seekers can be difficult to manage, as many students simply parrot prejudices. Constrain their response by specifying a limited, media-oriented task and restrict the material they may use.

The task: using content drawn only from the specified sources, and working either individually or in very small groups, prepare a series of advertisements for any or all of local radio, local newspapers or regional television, designed to persuade the public that there are social, moral and economic benefits in welcoming asylum seekers.
