Lord Puttnam will also be organising a Staffroom of the Future design competition, run in association with The TES.
High-profile designers, for example Terence Conran and architect Lord Rogers, will also be involved.
The TES will publish the winning entries and teachers will be able to vote for the one they like best. The winning design will be introduced in a number of schools with help from private sponsors.
