Apple has solved a perennial problem for ICT co-ordinators in schools - the missing mouse balls, taken by mischievous pupils. All new Macs now come with an optical mouse fitted as standard. These devices are believed to be more accurate and don’t require cleaning. Versions have been available from third party suppliers for some time, but Apple is the first maufacturer to issue them as standard. There’s also an upgraded keyboard. Apple has added to its range of iMacs with increased performance and bright new colours. It has also upgraded its G4s with the stylish G4 “Cube”, beefier G4s and improved iMovie 2 software that comes free with the machines to allow desktop video creation.
