At a job interview, I was intimidated by another candidate who was abusive about my appearance. I had recently separated from my husband and was feeling low. I was so upset that having passed the initial stages of the selection I felt unable to carry on and made my excuses. No one witnessed the incident and I can think of no way of proving it. I later learned that this woman had got the post. What should I do?
If this happened recently then I would send a letter to the appropriate individual clearly stating the facts. Of course, they may question your motives and also wonder why you didn’t make a point of it on the day. I doubt whether it will result in any further action being taken but certainly your letter will be noted and should there be the slightest hint of anything similar in the future then I am certain your letter will be taken into consideration.
