Give pupils the feel-good factor as they practise their French, German, Spanish or Italian vocabulary with www.freerice.com, a website run by the United Nations World Food Programme. Each time they answer a question correctly, 10 grains of rice go to an impoverished country.

BBC Learning has joined forces with the Royal Shakespeare Company for the World Shakespeare Festival, which starts on 23 April. They will launch a series of digital resources called “Shakespeare Unlocked” in April. www.bbc.co.ukshakespeare.

Maths

Maths in Minutes, a book by Paul Glendinning, introduces 200 mathematical concepts with a picture and concise explanation. The entries span the range of maths, in content and history, from the number zero all the way up to infinity.
