One of the biggest GCSE success stories in the borough this year was at Stratford school. The grant-maintained comprehensive, which hit the headlines with its raging battles between Anne Snelling, its former head and the governing body, recorded the biggest improvement - a 10.8 per cent increase in a year in the numbers gaining top grades at GCSE.
