TRAVEL companies this week predicted a major shake-up of the traditional family holiday in August if changes to school half-term breaks are implemented. Many families could switch their main holiday from August to October, the annual convention of the Association of British Travel Agents, in Cairo, heard. Changes being discussed by councils could mean shorter school summer holidays by 2004-5, a two-week half-term in October, and a fixed two-week break in April, not necessarily coinciding with Easter.
