Parents often ask teachers for advice about ICT and their children, and a useful place to point them is the Parents Online website.

Created by the Department for Education and Skills, it aims to increase parental understanding of the internet, of how children can use it safely, and its potential for education.

The DFES will be running Parents Online Week from September 30 to October 4, and is looking for education partners and supporters for the event. Last year schools, community centres, internet cafes and UK online centres opened their doors to involve parents at more than 600 events.
