MOTHERS AND fathers of children under five could be paid up to pound;150 per week to stay at home and look after their children under plans being examined by the Government.
The proposal was drawn up by Ruth Kely MP and the 101-strong Labour parliamentary women’s group. However, it has been attacked by business leaders. Ruth Lea, head of policy at the Institute of Directors described it as the “last straw”.
