PUPILS who steal mobile phones from each other are to blame for the 36 per cent rise in recorded robberies in London, according to Home Secretary Jack Straw.

A Downing Street source said: “Before mobilephones, children would have got bullied and had their dinner money stolen which wouldn’t necessarily have been reported to the police, while mobile phone thefts are being reported the whole time.”
