Children can learn to link sounds and letters on their parents’ iPods or iPhones. PocketPhonics is the first programme to be launched by a new company Apps in My Pocket. Letters and sounds come up on the screen and the way to write the letter is shown. Children can copy the writing by tracing over it with a finger on screen. It costs Pounds 1.79 and is available to download from Apple iTunes just like a music track. There’s a free, simpler version so that people can see how it works before they buy.
