I’ve recently taken delivery of a new iMac DV. Unfortunately, on two occasions I have dragged a music CD to the trash only to find it didn’t eject. In both cases the problem was resolved when I restarted. Is there a way of dealing with CDs that refuse to eject? - R. Bennett, London
Music CDs are notoriously variable in quality. If the edge of the CD is a little rough it can cause problems for the CD drive. However, don’t worry - Apple has thought of most things on the new iMacs. Th low-tech solution is to look just inside the mouth of your machine, where you will see a small hole on the right-hand side. Inserting a straightened paper clip will eject a stuck CD.
