HEALTH officials in North Staffordshire have admitted that children were wrongly given powerful psychiatric drugs.

An inquiry into Abbey Hulton centre for hyperactive children is investigating claims that doctors there mis-dignosed children as suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and wrongly prescribed Ritalin, a powerful stimulant. Dr David Foreman, a specialist in ADHD, has been suspended while the inquiry takes place.
