JK ROWLING, author of the Harry Potter books, has attacked the notion that single mothers are “feckless teenagers trying to get council flats”. Ms Rowling, a single mother herself, donated pound;50,000 to the National Council for One Parent Families and is an “ambassador” for the charity.
