Oh really? I doubt if many teachers could muster much of a quake in the face of this “virtual cheating” site which scandalised the educational world in 1996.

A dip into its massive archive of freely downloadable essays suggests that many of these efforts are so gloriously bad that even the most desperate student would think twice before attempting to pass one off as his or her own work. While there are probably some excellent pieces on Hamlet or quantum physics buried in here somewhere, there is no quality control.

School Sucks knows how bad many are, and uses their badness to defend itself against the charge of encouraging plagiarism: “A student could be turning in garbage... Mind you, that garbage is the result of the work of educators as well.” What’s this? A political agenda?

Whether its much good for cheats or not, the site is a lucrative business for its creator and is mildly entertaining.
