Name: Alistair Falk
Position: Headteacher of King Solomon high school, a voluntary-aided Jewish comprehensive in the London borough of Redbridge
Q If you had David Blunkett’s budget what would your priority be?
A To double it, so that I could then put into place a serious programme of professional and personal development for teachers, including time to think, plan and even take sabbaticals. I’d also attach a full-time educational psychologist to all schools.
Q If you had a blankcheque for your own school what would you buy?
A Invest in professional development for all staff; build common rooms for all students; set up a rolling programme of artists in residence; and buy a residential centre for year-round use.
Q What treat would you buy yourself?
A A gift voucher for amazon.com - but a digital camera also looks fun.
