ONE way to alleviate the teacher- recruitment problem is to redeploy all inspectors, advisers, and assessors back into classrooms.
Teachers would be relieved of being over-inspected and vacancies filled. And since the inspectors et al are by definitionexcellent classroom practitioners, standards in schools will rocket.
It’s simple, practical, effective and puts public money into the public service. Not a runner then.
