If your school uses “industry standard” software on the school computers you may be interested in a training service, approved by the National Grid for Learning, that is creating a stir among schools needing to increase ICT literacy. Joe Know It is a web-based training service that offers schools training in the more dominant Windows programs for just pound;1 a head - as long as the whole school signs up. It is also available for individuals from pound;14.99 for a home-office subscription. Its “IT Tools for Schools” service contains around 1,000 small video training packages for most of the popular software programs. The trainee hears a voice-over explaining the actions required, while on-screen animations show exactly what the voice is describing.
