Earlier this year we looked at Time’s i-Desk, now comes RM’s Intellidesk. Although both offer a secure way of accomodating several computers in a classroom, they achieve it in different ways. Whereas the i-Desk hides the computer within the desk, IntelliDesk places the PC in a secure case at the side of the desk without it getting in the way of your legs.
The IntelliDesk consists of a 15-inch flat-screen monitor, keyboard and mouse which all fold away into the desk. The PC has 128Mb of RAM, a 1GH processor, 20Gb hard drive and Windows XP, but RM says schools are free to use any industry-standard computer with it. RM expects schools to order a suite of Intellidesks and the product has been designed to be used in a variety of classroom configurations.
