Colleges will be challenging students to make their mark in business during Enterprise Week.

The Learning and Skills Council is co-ordinating activities from its 47 local offices to support the nationwide event, which runs from November 15 to 21.

The initiatives are designed to encourage debate and raise awareness of the importance of enterprise and to offer “inspiration and practical advice for people who want to make their ideas happen”.

The LSC is also among organisations from business, education, government and charities supporting the Start Talking Ideas campaign aimed at “inspiring a more enterprising culture among young people”.

Caroline Neville, LSC’s national director of learning, said: “Our activity during Enterprise Week is an important part of our broader, year-round focus on providing courses and qualifications that equip students for future employment and deliver the skills businesses need to be competitive.”
