Craig Howieson, a pupil at James Gillespie’s High in Edinburgh, helped Scotland to a silver medal behind England at the Junior Home International at Largs last month.

Craig also reached the semi-finals of the individual event but lost narrowly to England’s Bradley Evans.

In the girls’ event, Scotland won a team bronze and Corinna Whitaker, of Dollar Academy, reached the individual final before losing to Naomi Owen of Wales.

The Scottish Primary Schools Championships took place last Sunday in Perth and the Scottish Secondary Schools Championships will be held there on March 19.
