Numeracy: topics include standardnon-standard units including comparisons (handspans, cubits, feet), arcs of circles, place value, equations with two variables (such as weight and cost of bread).
Science: try cooking and costing bread; look at the size and scale of “space units” compared to terrestrial units.
History and geography: look at how ideas influence fashionsociety - interviews with family members who experienced decimalisation; collect foreign coins and plot origin.
Art: close observational drawings of coins and banknotes, make patterns from handspans, cubits, feet and other body parts.
ICT: visit “exchange rate” websites; use a spreadsheet to tabulate price and weight (of bread, for example) and create graphs to show variation.
