Tonight was one of the biggest evenings in the education calendar: the Tes Schools Awards 2018.
The awards celebrate the extraordinary commitment, quality and innovation shown by teachers and support staff across the UK. And this year the night was more special than ever, marking 10 years since the event was first launched.
Hosted by comedian Al Murray, the gala ceremony took place at London’s Grosvenor House hotel.
The overall school of the year was won by Pen Green Centre for Children and their Families in Corby, Northamptonshire, and Denise Fox, from Fulham Cross Girls’ School, in south-west London, was honoured with a lifetime achievement award.
As well as picking up the secondary school of the year award, Kensington Aldridge Academy, in North Kensington, West London, received a special services to education award in recognition of its extraordinary response to the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
