Think of the poor children

https://www.tes.com/magazine/archive/think-poor-children

Within our schools we have many children who live in poverty. While the government on the one hand introduces the pupil premium to support those children, which should be applauded, on the other hand with the proposed benefit changes it takes a decision that could make the very children it is supporting worse off at home. Everyone working in schools needs our support so that they can concentrate on being ambitious for every child. While the government continues to raise the standards expected of students it must recognise that those with no food on the table rarely come to school ready to achieve their best. We must protect the most vulnerable.
