WARWICK University has reconciled its differences over the training of lecturers with the further education national training organisation and the two organisations are co-operating once more.

The university’s Cert Ed course leader, professor John Field, had rejected the FENTO standards, protesting that adopting them would cause a “fall in quality”.

A joint statement said that Warwick has carried out a review of its FE teacher-training programme, although it is not clear what changes FENTO, initially described as “awful” by the university, has made.
