Students and work trainees in Wales are extremely happy with their learning experiences, a major new survey has revealed.

Around seven out of 10 learners aged over 16 in Wales said they were either “extremely” or “very” satisfied with their experiences and only one in 20 expressed any dissatisfaction.

The National Learner Satisfaction Survey was carried out by researchers NOP World, on behalf of the education and training body, ELWa. The results are slightly better than a similar survey in England which also recorded high levels of satisfaction.

In the Wales survey more than 6,000 people were interviewed. More than 90 per cent said they were pleased with the quality of their teachers and instructors.

Students were generally impressed with the learning facilities available to them, such as libraries and IT rooms, but were less happy about other amenities, such as canteens.
