KELVIN SINCLAIR, principal teacher of history at the High School of Glasgow, has been elected president of Euroclio, the European standing conference of history teachers’ associations. The group’s aim is to build and maintain democracy and to strengthen mutual understanding between different countries and people in Europe. It aims to stop history being used as a platform for propaganda, hatred and aggression.
ISABEL HIND, headteacher of Ysgol Gynradd Aberaeron in Ceredigion, is the new president of the National Association of Head Teachers Cymru (Wales). Vice-president is PAUL GREEN, headteacher of Gowerton comprehensive school in Swansea, and the new secretary is RICHARD EDWARDS, the headteacher of Lansdowne primary school in Cardiff. The officers were elected at NAHT Cymru’s annual conference, held at Aberystwyth last month.
