Yolanda Brooks scans the airwaves to see what broadcasters are doing for ICT this month
Teachers and pupils are invited to join a national wildlife survey being carried out in conjunction with the 4learning science programme Wildlife Habitats. The key stage 2 programme is accompanied by a website, which will allow participating schools to log the results of their own wildlife survey and compare their results with schools across the country.
Wildlife Habitats is part of the ICT 4learning strand, which includes Our Bodies, Our Health, broadcast at the end of January. RM and Xited have produced support materials for both programmes in the form of the CD-Rom, Learning Science with ICT (pound;14.99). The disk includes lesson plans, background information and files for recreating the background activities.
A more expensive option is the Resource Box (price pound;149) which includes the above CD-Rom plus Internet links and the software programs Number Magic, Information Magic and Stagecraft Creator.
Wildlife Habitats will be shown on Channel 4 on Thursday, March 1 at 11.25am. Our Bodies, Our Health will be available from 4learning in April. For details call 01926 436 444, write to 4learning, PO Box 100, Warwick CV34 6TZ or visit the website at www.4learning.co.uk.
