Means: A derogatory term for an arrogant boy who thinks every girl at school fancies him.

Usage: “Dave is such a Chad”“I so would have pulled Kate if it wasn’t for that Chad over there”

There used to be nothing worse than when you were slowly plucking up the courage to speak to a girl at a Diamond White-soaked house party and another brash boy swept in before you ... Oh, who are we kidding, it’s just as annoying now at Rioja-fuelled weddings, but Yoofspeak can unite us all - our common enemy: the Chad. One of the more unlikely Americanisms to make it into British Yoofspeak, “Chad” originates from Chicago slang in the Nineties. Popularised by satirical website the Lincoln Park Chad Society, the term comes from a common name for the stereotypical frat boyjock that populates US high schools and universities, annoying all and stealing girlfriends on a whim. So if you hear the unfamiliar moniker ring out, fear not - your class hasn’t gained a member, it’s just a tiny insignificant part of young love dying.
