Lisa Crausby OBE is a distinguished leader in the field of education, renowned for her values, innovative vision, and commitment to advancing educational excellence on a large scale. Her leadership has helped transform the lives of thousands of students over three decades.
Lisa joined GEMS Education as Group Chief Education Officer in 2024, having previously held the role of Executive Director of Education at Star Academies, the highest performing Multi-Academy Trust in England with 36 schools across the country.
In 2023, Lisa was named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to education by His Majesty King Charles III, reflecting her tremendous achievements over the course of her seven years with Star Academies.
Prior to that, Lisa served as Chief Education Officer of the UK’s Academy Transformation Trust, where she led the Trust’s 17 schools nationwide to Good and Outstanding ratings within three years. During this time, she also served as Lead Ofsted Inspector in the Northwest.
A passionate linguist who loves to speak French, German, Spanish, and Arabic, Lisa began her career in education as a teacher of French and German. She holds a BA Hons in German with Arabic, a PGCE in French and German, and a Master’s degree in Education. Lisa is also a devoted mother to her two teenage children, Poppy and Gabriel.
