NOW that it really is all over, we should congratulate the World Cup prophet on our website who signs him or herself “Nomad”. The entry was posted on June 20.

“Brazil last won the World Cup in 1994. Before that they won it in 1970. Add 1970 and 1994, it equals 3964.” Nomad went on to point out that Argentina won in 1986 and 1978, which make 3964. Germany won in 1990 and 1974, again this equals 3964. By this logic, to predict the winner this year, all you needed to do was take 2002 from 3964, which is 1962. The 1962 winners? Brazil. Let’s hope that the prescient Nomad placed a lucrative bet.
