The Royal Caledonian Curling Club, which governs the sport in Scotland, has been awarded pound;40,000 from the Lottery Fund’s Junior Groups programme to develop young curlers. The money will be used to fund training sessions for juniors to develop talents in delivery techniques, tactics, sports science and preparation for competition at rinks throughout the country. “The entire Great Britain squad for the Olympics in 2002 is made up of Scots curlers and we look forward to making that a tradition,” noted Chris Hildrey, director of development for the RCCC.
