What is it about teddy bears that turns adults gooey? You can glow warmly with a popular project hosted by MAPE (Micros and Primary Education). Actor Christopher Fry presented a TV programme on the history of Paddington Bear, which brought into focus the issue of spectacle bears in Peru. Travelling with him was renowned educational software and website author Mike Matson, who took his own Paddington Bear along and provided digital imagery. Now Paddington has extended his travels to UK primary schools. His activities, such as helping primary pupils in Cornwall make non-traditional Cornish pasties (filled with his favourite - marmalade), are being conducted via special pages on the MAPE website, to help schools get involved in web publishing and email activities.
