Old Mill Primary in Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, should have no such worries. The mill in question was wind powered and the village sits reassuringly high on a hill. Headteacher Tony Barnett says that gobal warming would have to reach blast furnace temperature before rising water levels threatened his school.
He is looking for a key stage 2 teacher to join his team. It is a permanent post at the large village school, which shares a site with the local secondary school. The Old Mill exists solely in the form of the school’s logo, which seems a shame, but presumably there is lots of scope for topic work on wind power.
That brings to mind the prospect of gales, storms and tornados. Just how many hurricanes has rural Leicestershire experienced in the past few years? None, say the Met Office, but you never know I Contact Mr Barnett for an informal chat about the post on 01455 284191.
