A film produced by Borders teenagers has won third prize at a prestigious European awards ceremony in Greece.

That’s Not Me. is a powerful drama showing the difficulties faced by young people with mental health problems. It received its latest accolade in the 10th European Camera Zizanio Meeting of Young People’s Audiovisual Creation. The film has also won awards for best Scottish youth film and best screenplay at the Discovery Film Festival in Dundee.

The film was supported by the Borders’ Voice of My Own (VOMO) video project, suicide prevention agency Choose Life, the Scottish Borders LEADER project and Penumbra Youth Project.

The director was VOMO screen-school co-ordinator Robert Sproul-Cran, who said: “The production team put real thought into making it work both as an education project and a drama.”

Choose Life hopes to produce an education pack to go with the film for use in schools.

That’s Not Me . will be shown at the VOMO film festival in Hawick on March 12.
