OFSTED staff roll

The Office for Standards in Education now employs 2,651 staff, including 216 inspectors of schools. Most of the staff (1,900) are monitoring childcare services. Others are involved in inspections of colleges, local authorities and teacher-training providers as well as schools, Stephen Timms said in response to a written question from Chris Grayling MP. A further 7,633 inspectors work for contractors carrying out school inspections.
