Speaking at the recent General Teaching Council for Scotland conference, our own Walter Humes, of Paisley University, lamented the demise of the Scottish Executive Education Department (Seed) under the SNP regime.

“No longer can I describe the associations of growth and development, suggested by the acronym, as being seriously misleading,” he commented. No matter, we’re sure Humes is equal to the task when it comes to the new ELL of a department (education and lifelong learning, to the uninitiated).
