Open Source software has been hailed as a means of achieving considerable savings in school budgets, but awareness of its potential is still low in education. Which is why mPowerNet, a department of Anglia Polytechnic University, intends helping schools or their way with its Open Source in UK Education conference on April 4 at its Danbury Park Conference Centre in Chelmsford, Essex. Users will be sharing their experiences and representatives from Becta, the E-Envoy’s office, the DfES and LEAs will be attending.
