For her PhD research, Barbara Cole is examining the tensions between professional and parental identity, choice and markets in the field of special educational needs. For her junior honours geography dissertation, Lucy Lucas is investigating whether educational attainment varies according to school location or pupil background. She would be grateful for access to similar research and the views of teachers who have worked in areas of high and low attainment.
