A small victory in the war on academisation

This idea will self-destruct in 10 seconds ...

As an experienced secondary supply teacher, I’d like to make a point which I am sure will be applauded by other supply staff.

Today I was in a well-organised school where, in four of the five lessons that I covered, the work was meticulously set and left by the absent teacher - and relied entirely on resources left on the computer system. But supply teachers are not given log-ons codes for the systems!

How long will it be before schools catch on to the fact they need to keep a couple of spare “log-ons” for us? If this really would endanger school security, perhaps they could be printed on rice paper so that we could be seen to eat them at the end of the day?

Jacquelyn Miles, Supply teacher, Brighton.
